What is this Sandalwood Project
Recently it is observed that people are going away from agriculture.
To get the people back to agriculture in the interest of the wellbeing of the society we have taken up this project.
? What is the intention of this Project?
To prove that agricultural projects can make good profits if the intention and hard work are genuine. To wipe out the already generated notion in the minds of the people that the agricultural investment is not profitable.
? Why only sandalwood project?
Because sandalwood is ultimate in reaping the profits. Apart from this one Company has several other agricultural projects in the State of Karnataka in the interest of the society.
? Is the project legitimate?
Yes, it is legitimate. The cultivation is done as per the conditions laid out by the Government of Karnataka and the Department of Forest. The Government of Karnataka will be our sole customer as per the regulation of the Forest Department.
? How efficient is the Company in doing this cultivation?
Cultivation is done legally and scientifically in collaboration with reputed agriculturists, Scientists, Researchers and Institutions.
? Which Institutions will be with you?
Institute of Wood Science and Technology, Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd., Institute of Agro foresters and technologists, Sandalwood Society of India, Bamboo Association of India etc.
? How about workforce?
Company will be taking the help of all reputed retired officers from agriculture and other allied departments and utilizing their valuable experience in our projects.
What is the project exit plan?
The Sandalwood harvest will bring the project to an end. Thereafter, the entire project would be handed over to the customers after forming the layout as per Master Plan.
? As a member, is everything free of cost in the Club house?
The project club house has been planned to provide basic facilities for members, planning for a short visit with prior intimation. The stay and other facilities would be charged at very nominal rates.
Can we have choice in selecting?
A Master Plan of the layout and allocation would be available at the time of registration and allocations are done on first come first served basis. Customers can select their choice.
Who is Dr. H.S. Anantha Padmanabha? and how is he associated with this project?
Dr. H.S. Anantha Padmanabha, the forestry consultant is an expert on sandalwood cell biology. A Scientist of 40 years experience in forestry in India, had worked as a Senior Scientist at the Institute of Wood Science & Technology in Bangalore (India) from 1964 to 1998 and was responsible for guiding research projects on sandalwood and other forestry species.
Currently, he is a Director of Karnataka Research Foundation and Advanced Technology Transfer, Bangalore, Consultant to Tropical Forestry Services, Western Australia, Consultant to Forest Rewards, Western Australia and had served as Consultant to Department of Conservation and Land Development (CALM) and Forest Product Commission (FPC), Government of Western Australia from 1998 to 2002. He is Honorary Consultant to Karnataka Soaps & Detergents Ltd., Bangalore, assisting and providing produce to farmers, Corporate bodies and NGOs growing sandalwood in India. He was designated as Chief Technical Advisor for Sandalwood projects with the World Bank FREE Project (ICFRE), Government of India. We are fortunate to have him as our Adviser.
This is the first sandalwood project for Organic Corporate India, How do we trust your expertise?
We have a great team of Scientists and Biologists with 40 plus years of experience in sandalwood cell biology who have mastered the technology of artificial raising of sandalwood. This is not the first project for the Scientists. Farming has been successfully done on 35,000 acres of land in other countries.
